Die Astrophysik ist ein Teilgebiet der Astronomie und befasst sich mit physikalischen Grundlagen der Analyse von Himmels-Erscheinungen. Es ist ein sehr komplexes Themengebiet, welches unterteilt wird in die beobachtende und die theoretische Astrophysik.
Den Hauptbereich der beobachtenden Astrophysik bildet die Spektral-Analyse elektromagnetischer Strahlung. Außerdem werden noch erdengebundene und Weltraum-Teleskope eingesetzt. Die Analyse kosmischer Strahlung ist für Astrophysiker ebenfalls sehr interessant.
Bei der theoretischen Astrophysik versucht man anhand von Modellen und Simulationen Himmelserscheinungen zu erklären und gegebenenfalls vorauszusagen. Dabei werden Hochleistungscomputer eingesetzt, die die doch sehr anspruchsvollen Rechenleistungen in hinnehmbarer Zeit absolvieren können.
Die Ergebnisse der theoretischen Berechnungen vergleicht man anschließend mit Beobachtungen und schaut, ob beide übereinstimmen.

Astrophysics

The astrophysics is a branch of the astronomy and deals with physical bases analyzing sky phenomena. It is a very complicated subject area which is divided into the observing astrophysics and the theoretical one.
The spectral analysis of electromagnetic radiation presents the main area of the observant astrophysics. Moreover, earth-engaged and space telescopes are still used. The analysis of cosmic radiation is also very interesting for astrophysicist.
With the theoretical astrophysics one tries to explain sky phenomena on the basis of models and simulations. Therefore high-capacity computers which are able to finish the very demanding arithmetic achievements in acceptable time are used.
Afterwards one compares the results of the theoretical calculations to observations and looks whether both agree.
